A 55-year-old Queens superintendent was discovered dead in trash bags after attempting to collect overdue rent.

A Queens apartment superintendent was discovered dead, his body placed inside two garbage bags and hidden beneath a bed in the unit he had last entered to collect overdue rent, according to police sources on Wednesday.

The building’s owner had asked the 55-year-old superintendent, who worked at a property on 70th Ave. near 137th St. in Kew Gardens Hills, to retrieve the late payment around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, sources said.

Building surveillance footage captured the superintendent entering the apartment but never coming out.

Later, the superintendent’s brother contacted 911, reporting that he had not heard from him and was worried about his safety.

Around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, officers arrived at the apartment. As they spoke with a woman who had opened the door, a male resident returned to the home.

When asked about the missing superintendent, the man led police to a bedroom, where officers discovered a body inside two garbage bags—one covering the upper body and the other the lower. The remains were intact and showed no signs of dismemberment, according to police.

Both individuals found in the apartment were taken in for questioning.
