Five-alarm blaze engulfs Bronx apartment building, firefighters respond.

Fire marshals continue to investigate the cause and origin of a massive five-alarm fire that broke out in the Bronx on Saturday morning.

The FDNY responded to the blaze at 1470 East Tremont Avenue in Parkchester shortly after 11 a.m. on November 8, finding the apartment building fully engulfed in flames.

The intensity of the fire forced several workers to evacuate a nearby autobody shop.

The 6th Division quickly raised a second alarm as flames began venting through the roof of the single-story structure.

While firefighters were deploying hoses to combat the fire, a section of the wall collapsed, leaving four FDNY personnel with minor injuries. Emergency services transported the injured firefighters to a nearby hospital for treatment.
