A fire in Washington Heights injures nine people, including three firefighters.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan — A blaze swept through a six-story apartment building in Washington Heights on Saturday evening, leaving nine people injured, including three firefighters.
The fire broke out shortly before 9 p.m. on Fort Washington Avenue near 164th Street and eventually spread to the fifth and sixth floors, reaching the roof.
Authorities reported that all injuries were minor, and the victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
